Arise with the Moment

Yoga Class with TESS ADAMS
February 7, 2020

Friday 9:00 – 11:00am

“For the birds who own

nothing—the reason they can fly.”

—excerpt from Mary Oliver’s poem, Storage

Our hips are our body’s storage units which, over the years, we fill with our burdens—often past capacity. It’s no wonder we cannot take flight! On Friday, February 7th, join Tess for a morning of investigative play, balance, and air-time. With Bhujapidasana (Shoulder-Pressing Pose) as our “peak pose”, we will lighten our hips, open our mid-backs, and (quite literally at times) arise with the moment. This workshop is ALL-LEVELS as all explorations will offer support—we will build the essence of Bhujapidasana from the very beginning of our time together. You might just surprise yourself by how freely you can fly!

Open to all students and levels.

TESS ADAMS is a seeker who inspires further seeking. She started practicing yoga in high school and officially teaching after a decade of devoted study. Inspired by her studies with Tias and Surya Little as well as her colorful professional experiences (ranging from painting conservation to lighting science), Tess’s weave of the classical yoga traditions with more contemporary somatic-based modalities and the artist’s way creates an inspiring web of resources to support her students’ journeys.
