wheeler dealers ratings drop

Velocity and their blasted auctions, don’t they realize that a majority of the audience are working class motorheads who are interested in fixing or restoring their own pride and joy vehicle. Sorry to come in very late on this subject but I loved the old show and Ed’s realistic calm and normal behaviour made it for me and I had to leave the room when Mike did his bit so this new WD is unfortunately not for me. I agree, The program now is for that kind of full tattooed and stinking fans of noisy cars! The show was really about the mechanics of ‘restoring’ a vehicle. Seems like the Velocity/Discovery want more built up drama and less technical work. 138 million fans is absolutely incredible. The show is not as good as it used to be. I hope he’s okay and doing some awesome work somewhere…. And I believe he deliberately stabbed him in the back. The show now looks like a quick buck show. As for Mike Brewer’s account that the show’s format would not change? I like ant a lot but still prefer the English setting. We then watched the episodes through and timed only the segments which showed Edd working on something – and excluded the times where nothing mechanical was actually going on. The deepest wounds often take years to heal, and such is the case with one of the world’s most popular car shows Wheeler Dealers. After 13 years and some 135 cars, Edd China parted ways with the show almost a year ago with suggestions that Velocity planned to reduce the workshop aspect for Series 14. All photos used are copyright of their respective owners and will be credited where possible. Mike was and Is a used car salesman……….. Just Edd’s work, pure and simple. why in America ???? Too much speaking and not enough action. American setting just don’t feel right! Bring Back Edd China. I would’t mind owning the garage either because it would have attracted thousands! Seems better and more well friendly! Nothing to with the British original…,which could be excellent with Eddie or Ant…. However after seeing the first 2 episodes I must admit that I like Ant, and that the show is absolutely watchable. I can’t stand the new show, mostly because of Ant who may be a good mechanic but is a horrible actor – and acting he is constantly. The answer to the WD problem was SIMPLE ….

I suspect he was jealous of Edds popularity. In light of recent events, Brewer took a moment to reach out to all the haters. “WheelerDealers @mikebrewer @antanstead Wow! Are the days of Ed taking the car to the spray shop himself or refurbishing the alloy wheels with a scrubbing brush gone forever, only to be replaced by comments like “the car is back from the sprayers” or “the wheels are back from the refurbishers” Heck, the show now even accounts for labor time when it does its profit and loss accounting we all wait for in the last five minutes. Its not Ant’s fault but the reality is Ed was much more personable and knowledgeable. At last thats what i have been trying to find out, when Ant alledgedly made and fitted the front scuttle repair on the yellow Saab 96 I knew instantly that he did not do it, that repair was carried out by a highly skilled panel maker with a lifetime of experiance and knowhow. Nowadays far too much driving about with pathetic attempts at humour, the old UK series with Edd was FAR superior and I still enjoy watching them. Anyway just an idea and I’m sure there are many better ones out there. Brewer does seem to be a proponent of Small Businesses — “a man and his mate on an industrial estate”; and he has commented more than once on having to be his own mechanic in his early days as a used-car dealer). Although I do like Ant (“For the love of Cars” was great in it’s own right and should have continued) Ed was, and still should be king.

So what’s the future for Wheeler Dealers when there is so much negativity for the new formula that to so many has diminished the soul of the program? I dont think so. having watched two episodes, unlikely to watch further ones! Mike Brewer as always been for himself , he never gave a toss about Ed and the reason for that is cause Ed was getting more popular than him, from ian in uk good luck to you all inspiring show cant wait for the uk showing mike is perfect for the part so stick out your hand mate. As for Mike, he’s all about the “wheeling and dealing” while contributing some welcome humor . There is an American show based in a garage called grease monkeys or … I must disagree with the reviewer. Mar 25, 2012 1,078 London Full Name: Russell Schacter #1 rustytractor, Nov 2, 2012. The older motor cars that Ed worked on was the reason I fell in love the show.

Ant Anstead comes over as know it all and disingenuous, and for example making a manifold from scratch when you could buy one off the shelf, reflects the lack of direction?? Will stop watching.

I miss Edd, but still like Ant and the show…. Some variance is to be expected, as some cars require more work than others. Perhaps, and the spin-off seems to be back in the UK. Ant constantly has his hands in the grease and chemical cleaners without the benefit of gloves. But Brewer has never been one to shy away from an argument on social media and regularly responds to criticism directed at the show. The man’s conceit knew no bounds – Edd China was the only reason to watch the show & this new Substitute ‘Ant’ comes nowhere near the legendary EC! If you notice Edd’s times increased over the years. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, Rory Reid and The Stig. just watched the new series! I watch Wheeler Dealers all over the globe and was a little annoyed with Mike’s hatchet job on Edd on YouTube lots of snide remarks, won’t be watching Brewer the prima Donna ever again. Also now the use dollars and no pounds. So what can we gather from this information? The mark Evans shows were great as is wheeler dealers. Once Edd left, that magic was diminished and the show lost some character. To find and repair the cars of yesteryear was just fun to watch. None of the cars were perfect show room quality but that not what the show was about. Right! I have always loved Mike Brewer hes great in Wheeler dealers and I wish him and his new sidekick well AND Wheeler Dealers US, featuring flashy editing, explosions, white teeth, fake boobs, etc. American Chopper was a good show when they we’re building bikes, not baking cookies or taking their dog to a vet. Given that the show is now geared to the American market, it has lost it’s naive charm. He had been in the running for a gig on Top Gear, a show that could not be more different from Wheeler Dealers, and that made us like him less.

Get rid of Brewer – oh sorry you can’t. RIP Wheeler Dealers. It may be as you say ‘Brewer’s show’ but in all honesty what does he bring to the table other than an constantly irritating pseudo cockney personality who, despite having a massively overinflated opinion of his own abilities could not sell a life belt to a drowning man. If it were being run as a business they’d be in trouble! Having said that, I’ll give Ant a chance to stamp his own mark on the show. AlexM, Canada. Even when Ant is on screen the mechanical work and informatio he shares is not as in-depth, granular or illustrative as what Edd used to give us. Ant knows how to look and smile to a camera; he knows all this kind of tricks. Apart from the budget there were probably time constraints. But the show has got so bad I’m not gonna bother with the next season, I’m going to just watch Car SOS, much better programme, much better consept, much better presenters, just a MUCH better show….

They might say 30 or 40 hours for repairs but don’t give a cost for this. Great start to the new season! Load of rubbish bring back Edd far superior, will not watch it again. The cars story coming to life was the story made to live again by Ed and then a new journey with a new owner. Edd was the one who had all the skill, and had his own brand of appealing charm, and know how. S13 E4 – Chevrolet LUV 1980 is the Edd China reduced time proof. WD has been my favorite Velocity Channel show since I started watching 5 years ago. It’s a matter of personalities as much as anything. And girly. Have Wheeler Dealers reduced workshop time? 13 1976 Porsche 911 2.7s Targa Not me the new Top gear and new Wheeler dealer on the never to watch list .

This is definitely the downside of earning a global audience! Mike Brewer is a micro-celebrity who has sold his soul for big bucks. That’s an average of 5 minutes less time spent in the workshop per episode for Series 14 – or a reduction of around 25% which is a bit disappointing. Life after Wheeler Dealers: What has Edd China been up to? Watch it if you want, don’t if it’s not for you. So just try to spread a little bit of love.”, “It’s a car show and it’s all about the cars. Wheeler dealers Ill watch it but l think its headding the way Top Gear went . Mike Weaver is a complete w*****r.When he sees a car he likes he tells the owner the last thing you do to get a bargain. When he drives a car he likes he sounds like he’s losing his virginity all oo’s and ah’s.How he ever made a living as a car dealer I shall never know.I dont like the way he treats Edd China and he always thinks he is right. Their logic here is that anyone buying, fixing and re-selling cars as a hobby wouldn’t be charging out time to themselves. Here’s how it turned out: As you might have noticed, the times above are far from consistent – but they do give you a rough indication of the amount of time typically devoted to Edd’s work. Nothing last forever and its plain to see Edd had lost interest in the job during season 13. Show has gone downhill in my opinion….. used to love seeing all the finishing touches, now it basically jumps straight to the sale. ill still watch the old ones but never the new , at least top gear lads were descent enough to not carry on not fastso though. Now we are supposed to believe he can fix cars? I used to feel I was sharing the project – diagnosing the problem, working out how to get to awkward bolts – now there is no information I find useful, or could not get more directly elsewhere. Less time wasted when buying the car, which I’m sure is extended just to prove how great he is at buying. Here’s how it all went wrong for... Edd China returns with ‘Garage Revival’ YouTube series. You are right in every point. Watching old episodes today with Eds on Velocity. An average of just 15 minutes 30 seconds.
