Bodywork

“There’s an important distinction between the word ‘cure’ and the word ‘heal.’ In contemporary language, cure means to eradicate an illness or wound. But heal comes from the root ‘to make whole.’”

Bodywork is a term used to describe any therapeutic or personal development technique that involves working with the human body in a form involving touch therapy, breath work, or energy medicine. The terms massage and bodywork are often used interchangeably. While bodywork includes all forms of massage techniques, it also includes many other types of touch therapies, such as craniosacral therapy, scar tissue remediation and yoga.

Bodywork techniques aim to assess or improve posture, heal injuries and promote awareness of the body, mind, and emotion connection. Central to all forms of bodywork is the belief that there are blocks in the flow of energy and fields that indirectly cause disease, and which, when unblocked, result in a return to the state of health.
