Antony Funnell: This faux business ethos, as you describe it, some of that is the university vice chancellors actually wanting to appear like successful businesses in order to attract funding and in order to attract students. Admittedly some of them charge fees, but they are a lot lower than the fees, for instance, that English students now have to pay.
